Here are some audio examples of the types of services I offer...

All of these examples are projects that I was involved in from beginning to end... tracking, editing, mixing and mastering.  The first two samples are gospel music duo Back Home, from their "Pocket Full of Crosses" CD.  The next two are cuts that were featured on the soundtrack for the 2010 movie "Get Low" from bluegrass groundbreakers The Steeldrivers.  Jerry Salley's upcoming CD "Showing My Age" will have the next three examples on it.  And Guy Clark's Grammy-nominated "Workbench Songs" contains the last two soundbites, which I also had the honor of playing violin and viola on.

These are examples of tracks that I built (played and programmed) at my home studio.  The first sample is a demo, "How Was I To Know", for songwriters Lucas Hoge, Cory Lee Barker, and Nanci Fognani.  Soundbite number 2, "I Sing", is a track that I did for Orlando Magic's 9-year old good luck charm, Gina Incandela.  The last three are tracks that I did for Nashville songwriter John Lemonis.  John, who is an accomplished pianist, started these by coming over and laying a piano track and guide vocal, then I played/programmed the rest of the tracks around his piano part.

Need some harmony vocals?  This set of clips are song demos that I got to work on for the great songwriter Sandy Lawrance.  The lead vocals are performed by one of my favorites, Rusty Van Sickle.  My wife, Cindy, and I are doing the harmony vocals on these tracks.  You can't beat the joy of singing great songs with a great vocalist!  Incidentally, I also played bass and programmed drums on these tracks.

Need some real strings?  The first clip is a demo that I recorded for the new hit duo The Civil Wars.  I added a string quartet (2 violins, viola, and cello).  The next clip is a recent cut I worked on for Back Home.  I played the string trio (violin, viola, and cello) you hear.  The last soundbite is another Back Home cut from a couple of years ago.  On this recording I doubled 2 violin parts, and a cello part, then I used the parts I played to trigger a software instrument to add synthetic strings to fill it out and make it sound like a bigger string section.

If I can be a part of your project in any way, please contact me at (615)347-2025, or studiogorilla@gmail.com.  Also, ask me about flat rate pricing for vocal editing, or any of the services I offer.  I look forward to helping make your recording project come to life.
